Short and sharp north
A whirlwind itinerary to the northern parks and on to Zanzibar
This is a great little itinerary for those that are a little short on time and possibly short on funds! Ideal for seeing the wildebeest migration from November until June and good for the rest of the year for the resident herds in the centre of the Serengeti. At this price we think that it really gives the lesser priced properties in the southern parks a good run for their money. It is true that there is a fair amount of driving involved but it is also undisputed that the Serengeti, on its day can give the best safari experience in Africa and so we think it is worth a bit of vehicle time!
Fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport
Fly to Kilimanjaro international airport and met on arrival.
Lake Manyara National Park
Met on arrival into Kilimanjaro by your private driver/guide for the start of your private Landcruiser safari and drive through to Lake Manyara National Park (approx 3 hours) for a picnic lunch and afternoon to game drive in this interesting little park. Drive up onto the Great Rift Escarpment to spend your first night in Kirurumu Tented Lodge on a full board basis.
The Serengeti National Park
Start early in the morning and drive from Kirurumu via the Ngorongoro Crater to the southern plains of the Serengeti. (approx 4 hours) Spend the next 3 nights in EITHER Kati Kati Camp (Nov/Dec, Mar to June) OR Lake Masek Tented Camp. Right in the heart of the main game viewing areas for the Serengeti you will be able to see the reason why this vast plain and the wildebeest that live here have become famous! Overnight in Kati Kati/Masek on a full board basis.
The Ngorongoro Crater
Drive in the late morning from the Serengeti back to the Ngorongoro Crater (approx 3 hours) to spend the afternoon game driving in the Ngorongoro Crater. This stunning, intact volcanic caldera is to be seen to be believed, with 600 meter high walls and abundant game viewing you will spend 3 hour exploring the crater floor. Drive out of the crater in the afternoon and back down to the Ngorongoro Highlands to stay in the Ngorongoro Farmhouse for the night on a full board basis.
