Crocodiles and Leopards
This itinerary combines the two best safari destinations in Zambia - the Lower Zambezi and the South Luangwa National Parks.
This itinerary combines fantastic camps in the Lower Zambezi National Park and then onto the South Luangwa National Park. You can enjoy safaris on the water, in open-sided vehicles and on foot so this safari is very varied.
Lower Zambezi National Park
Fly from Lusaka with Proflight to the Lower Zambezi National Park (Jeki airstrip). Met on arrival and transferred to Chiawa Camp to stay for 3 nights on a full board basis.
Sat on the banks of the Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park, Chiawa Camp is a small and intimate camp with a fantastic reputation. Its service, food, management, guiding, location and accommodation are all on-point, with the perfect blend of safari-authenticity and luxury.
The Lower Zambezi Valley is a huge rift in the earth’s crust that homes the mighty Zambezi River and two national parks either side (Mana Pools National Park sits on the Zimbabwean side and on the Zambian side, is the infamous Lower Zambezi National Park). With the exception of rhino, giraffe and cheetah, the Lower Zambezi homes all of the desirable big game. On the land, plentiful predators, herds of elephant and buffalo can be seen; and on the water, boat trips along the Zambezi give you the chance to see hippos, crocodile and an array of bird life.
South Luangwa National Park
Transferred to the airstrip to fly to the South Luangwa National Park (Mfuwe airport). Met on arrival and transferred to Bilimungwe Camp to stay for 3 nights on a full board basis.
As one of the Bushcamp Company properties, Bilimungwe is an intimate and stylish camp with a rustic and authentic safari feel to it. This camp is particularly popular for those combining the sister camps in the southern area, such as Kapamba to the west, or Chindeni to the east. With award-winning resident guides, guests staying at this camp could not be in better hands during their stay.
South Luangwa National Park is located on Zambia’s eastern side and is considered the finest safari park in Zambia! The park is famed for its plentiful game, its variety of game viewing activities and most importantly, its exceptionally high quality of guiding and walking safaris that has raised the bar across all of Africa! At a size of nine thousand square kilometres, the topography of the park is one of the most varied in Zambia as the Luangwa River winds through vast open plains, dense woodlands and waterlogged marshes.
Back home!
Transferred to the Mfuwe airport to fly to Lusaka airport and connect onto international flights home (booked by you).
Please note that the above is on a full board basis unless otherwise shown and does NOT include international flights.
