Lower Zambezi National Park

Zambia Adventure Holidays

Zambia is a country full of adventure. The national parks are home to an array of wildlife including large numbers of the top predators such as leopard, lion and African wild dog. What makes a Zambia so unique is that you can view the wildlife from a vehicle, a boat, a canoe, or on foot! On top of the that, Livingstone city is the base of Victoria Falls which is one of the starting or finishing destinations in a Zambia itinerary. For those looking for an adventurous holiday in Zambia, we have put together a bit more information for you to have a read through…

Amanzi Camp

This small camp is the perfect option for those looking for something with a cosy safari ambiance, as well as the luxurious amenities that comes with it. The camp is located furthest east of the Lower Zambezi National Park, on the Ntwenya Channel. The area is surrounded by stunning thorn tree forests and makes for an exciting game viewing experience.

Anabezi Camp

Looking out to the Mushika Flood Plains and the Zambezi River in the distance, Anabezi Camp is a great choice for those looking for luxury in an untouched wilderness. The camp is to the very east of the Lower Zambezi National Park so the safari experience feels private and the guiding is truly fantastic. An all-round great choice!

Potato Bush Camp

This is a charming bush camp in the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park. The camp can accommodate a total of 12 people which means it has a cosy and intimate ambiance. The rooms each have a private plunge pool, private verandas and well-appointed bathrooms which makes for a very comfortable stay.

Sausage Tree Camp

If you are looking for somewhere completely luxurious, with coffee machines, private plunge pools, huge rooms and air conditioning, this is the place for you! The camp has just had a significant refurbishment so the rooms are simply stunning but the original sausage tree (the one it is named after), is still stood tall in front of the camp.

Old Mondoro Camp

Owned and run by the Cumings family (who also run Chiawa Camp further to the west), this small and intimate camp is one of our favourites in all of the Lower Zambezi, and possibly Zambia! With only four safari chalets and a very authentic, wild and natural feel to their design and layout, Old Mondoro really do focus their energy on the guiding, experience and the wildlife.

Chongwe River House

Designed by the renowned architect Neil Rocher (who has a portfolio of quirky safari properties), Chongwe River House is full of energy, excitement and beautiful views out to the Chongwe River. The house can accommodate between 4 to 8 guests comfortably and as all of the safari activities are on a private basis, it’s the perfect choice for big groups.

Chongwe River Camp

Chongwe River Camp is a luxurious camp that sits on the confluence of the Zambezi and Chongwe River. Although the camp is outside of the national park, there is still resident game to be seen from camp and there are a variety of safari activities to enjoy. The camp has a pool, open-air bathrooms and a simple but elegant feel to it.

Chiawa Camp

Sat on the banks of the Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park, Chiawa Camp is a small and intimate camp with a fantastic reputation! Its service, food, management, guiding (Nobby and Daniel are particularly great), location and accommodation are all on-point, with the perfect blend of safari-authenticity and luxury!
